Africa-Press – Nigeria. Councillorship aspirants under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Hildi Ward of Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State are to pay N250,000 for the party’s forms as they prepare for the impending councillorship by-election in the ward.
This follows the release of the party’s timetable and guidelines for the by-election, and the fixing of the nomination form fee and the expression of interest form, respectively, at N200,000 and at N50,000.
Adamawa State PDP Chairman Tahir Shehu, who unveiled the timetable, said the sale of forms would commence on July 16 and end two days later, on 18.
He clarified, however, that female aspirants are only required to purchase the expression of interest form at N50,000, as the nomination fee is waived for women.
According to the PDP by-election schedule, Friday, July 18 is the deadline for the submission of completed forms, while the screening of aspirants is scheduled for the next day, July 19, 2025.
The party primaries to elect the PDP’s flag bearer for the by-election will take place on July 21, 2025.
The chairman of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, Alhaji Mohammed Umar, confirmed to newsmen in Yola that the councillorship by-election for Hildi Ward is scheduled to hold on July 26, 2025.
