Africa-Press – Nigeria. The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has released footage from a July 2025 event at Abuja’s Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, showing Nafiu Bala attending the unveiling of David Mark as the party’s interim national chairman.
The video showed INEC representatives were present at the event, and Bala was seen seated near key figures, including Senator Ishaku Abbo.
Nafiu Bala is laying claims to the party’s leadership.
An alleged resignation letter purportedly written by Bala recently surfaced online.
In the letter dated May 18, 2025, Bala said he has resigned from his position as Deputy National Chairman (North-East) effective May 26, 2025, stating that the decision was intended to allow for “a smooth and effective coalition and restructuring” within the party.
The footage also shared by ADC Vanguard, was captioned: “ADC releases video where Nafiu Bala was sighted at David Mark leadership unveiling after he tendered his resignation. The @inecnigeria representatives were also present at the event.”
The footage has sparked reactions on social media, especially as INEC recently delisted both Mark and Rauf Aregbesola to enforce a court order restoring the pre-July 2025 leadership status quo.
On X, @JADEWORLD wrote, “@inecnigeria With this evidence, it is clear you are no longer a non-partisan body. It is absolutely embarrassing that INEC has been reduced to APC’s agent of confusion and destruction.”
@slkie wrote, “All they had to do was take this to the court where Nafiu lodged his suit… but no… Twitter threads upandan.”
