APC Blames ADC for Internal Crisis Dismisses Claims

Africa-Press – Nigeria. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accusing the opposition party of being responsible for its own internal problems and spreading conspiracy theories.

In a press statement issued on April 2, 2026, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the ADC had failed to manage its affairs and should not blame others for its challenges.

“Quite apart from being an assembly of Nigeria’s most confused and desperate politicians, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has distinguished itself as a peddler of rabid conspiracy theories about what the All Progressives Congress (APC) is or is not doing to undermine the party,” Morka said.

He further criticised the structure and origin of the ADC, describing it as fundamentally flawed.

“The ADC is a party that never was. By design, it was a kamikaze contraption with a ‘follow-come’ self-destructive detonator. It had to unravel and is now unravelling fast by instalment,” he added.

Morka also addressed the party’s leadership dispute, accusing a faction led by David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola of violating internal rules.

“When it’s factional leadership under the duo of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola parachuted into the party like thoughtless, planless commandos and hijacked the party in violent violation of its constitutional stipulations regarding leadership succession and in disregard of the rule of law, the ADC set its own date with destiny,” he said.

The APC spokesperson defended the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw recognition from the factional leadership, saying it followed due legal process.

He said the ADC was wrong to blame the APC for its internal crisis, insisting the party was responsible for its own situation.

Morka added that the ADC’s inability to resolve its issues raises questions about its capacity to govern.

“Our great party and the administration of President Bola Tinubu remain steadfast in delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthening democratic institutions for the peace, unity and prosperity of all Nigerians,” he said.
