Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Tony Okocha, has assured Governor Siminalayi Fubara that the APC would always be at his beck and call.
Okocha spoke on Friday, when he formally went to register the Governor as a member of the APC at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
He said he was directed by the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, to officially issue the Governor his party membership card.
He described the assignment as a “holy one” and congratulated the governor for his decision to join the ruling party.
According to Okocha, he was satisfied with the reasons given by Governor Fubara for joining the APC, adding that the party in Rivers State would fully support him.
The formal registration of Governor Fubara as an APC member was conducted by the State Secretary of the party, Eric Nwibani.
Dignitaries present at the brief ceremony included the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo; members of the APC State Executive Council; former Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo; and other party stakeholders.
