Africa-Press – Nigeria. A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, Dele Momodu, has lambasted political economist, Prof Pat Utomi, over his comment on the political future of former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
In a post on his official X handle on Friday, Momodu, faulted Utomi’s recent comments after Obi’s defection to the ADC.
Utomi had in a Channels Television interview on Thursday, warned that he would withdraw his support for Obi if he accepted the position of vice-presidential candidate in the emerging opposition coalition.
However, Momodu said he was taken aback by Utomi’s stance, insisting that anyone who rules out the possibility of Obi serving as a running mate does not believe in democratic choice.
“Anyone insisting that Obi cannot run behind anyone is definitely not a Democrat who wishes to rescue Nigeria from a one man dictatorship,” Momodu wrote.
