At this point it is important for me to give details analysis of what really transpired in Abuja before,during and after PDP national convention.
I arrived Abuja on 6th of December, 2018, reason for my early arrival is to study what was on ground and to observe political permutations and skimming going on in our party (PDP).Thursday morning series of caucuses meeting were held at various caucus, Prince Uche Secondus camp, Prof Tunde Adeniran camp and others contestants camps. Also General Ibrahim Babangida held several meetings with PDP leaders to guide the party on type of personality we should elected as National Chairman.
On Thursday evening Hon. Wole Oke who was Secondus coordinator and canvasser at House of representatives organised meeting of Osun PDP leaders and delegates in his house in Abuja.He made it known to them that the permutations on ground favours Prince Uche Secondus and pleaded that all 9 delegates from Hon. Adagunodo camp should support, canvass and vote for Secondus. A video call was made to Prince Uche Secondus through Hon. Wole Oke’s phone and every leaders promised their 100% loyalty to him. In the meeting Chief Shuiab Oyedokun,Erelu Olusola Obada, Prof Wale Oladipo, Senator Ademola Adeleke (the highest political officer in the state) Hon. Wole Oke, Hon. Albert Abiodun Adeogun, Hon. Akinwole Safiriyu, Hon. Eluwole, Akogun lere Oyewumi, Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello, Aremo Adekunle Alao, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, Hon. Sunday Bisi, Hon. Sanya Omirin, Hon. Mayowa Adejoorin, Hon. Kayode Oduoye (Superkay) Hon. Wale Ojo, Barr. Bamidele Salam and many others in attendance. This was how Adagunodo’s 9 statutory national delegates made their decision to support Prince Uche Secondus.
On Friday, the 9delegates met with Prince Uche Secondus and sealed the deal. However, Hon. Wole Oke who was Prince Uche Secondus coordinator at House of representatives and Prof Wale Oladipo who was National secretary under Secondus when he was acting National Chairman served as liaison officers between Osun state delegates and Secondus.
On the D-day Hon. Wole Oke brought unity list to our delegates and the election started. At about 8:43pm Osun state delegates was announced to cast their votes and the delegates was led by the octogenarian Chief Oyedokun. At the end of the counting of election, Prince Uche Secondus was announced as the winner and new elected PDP national chairman.
It is sadden seen some elements in Omisore’s group claiming the glory with just 2 delegates:Rev Bunmi Jenyo and Barrister Ojo Williams from their side. Friends and Readers, please between a group that gave 9votes and those that gave 2votes to Secondus who should be celebrated? Now I can easily concluded that Omisore supporters are set of people who cannot differentiate the gap between 9 and 2.
I don’t know what Otunba Iyiola Omisore might have contributed to Prince Uche Secondus emergence, but I can boldly ascertain Hon. Wole Oke’s contributions both morally and financially. Today, the Secondus our people from other side are celebrating his victory as if he will impose Dr Bayo Faforiji as Osun PDP Chairman without Congress and Otunba Iyiola Omisore as PDP gubernatorial candidate in 2018 without primary election. Secondus is a product of election either genuine or counterfeit and he has no option than to organise free and fair congresses in the party especially in Osun state.
I will like to advise our people who are waiting for shortcuts to desist from such impression and go back to their wards to canvas party loyalists to support them. This is the right time to inform Otunba Iyiola Omisore and his supporters to prepare for straight roads to success not believe in shortcut or imposition in any form, we shall ensure every corners are block because winners will surely take all just as National convention that produced Secondus.
