Africa-Press – Nigeria. A combined team of police officers from the Lagos State Command and Department of State Services, DSS, has arrested Fredrick Nwajagu, the Eze Igbo of Ajao Estate in the state.

The security team arrested Nwajagu for inviting the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, into Lagos State.

Nwajagu had invited IPOB members to Lagos State to help secure properties belonging to Igbos in the state.

In a 49-second video, Nwajagu said the call became necessary following the attacks on Igbo people in the state.

Markets, mostly populated by Igbos, have been targeted by unknown arsonists during and after the general elections.

Following his call, Nwajagu was arrested by the combined security team at a hotel in Ejigbo.

Reacting, the spokesman of Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin said the command would not fold its arms and allow such in the state.

In a tweet, Hundeyin wrote: “To start with, the ever-ready @LagosPoliceNG will never fold its arms and allow such within the state.”
