Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu will inaugurate two projects within the Abuja satellite towns.
Wike disclosed that Tinubu will personally commission 10 of the 17 projects to mark his second year in office.
He made this known while inspecting some project sites on Wednesday.
He revealed that the commissioning of projects will kick off on June 10 with the reopening of the rehabilitated Abuja International Conference Centre, AICC, and continue through the end of the month.
According to Wike: “Mr. President has agreed to commission two of the satellite towns projects in person. He wants residents to see the impact of federal governance firsthand.”
The minister also disclosed that Vice President Kashim Shettima will stand in for the President at three installations, while Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives will each oversee the commissioning of two projects.
“All of them will have a reason to go to the satellite towns and let the people see their president and the leadership of the country,” Wike explained.
