Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Kano State Fire Service has rescued a 23-year-old woman who fell into a well at Gurungawa in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to the Fire Service in a statement signed by Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer, its Emergency Response Unit received a distress call at about 12:25 a.m from a resident, Lawan Aminu, reporting the incident.

A rescue team was immediately deployed from the agency’s headquarters to the scene.

“On arrival, our team discovered a 23-year-old woman who had fallen into a well,” the Fire Service said.

The victim, identified as Ladidi Muhammad Sani, was rescued alive and later handed over to her father, Abdullahi Sani.

The Fire Service said the cause of the incident is under investigation.

It also advised residents to take safety precautions around open wells and other dangerous areas to prevent similar incidents in the future.
