Africa-Press – Nigeria. The chairman of the Northern States Governors Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, and the Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, have agreed to strengthen the synergy between the federal and state governments to reinforce security measures, particularly in the Northern region and across Nigeria.

Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director General of Press Affairs, Government House Gombe, said in a statement that the trio met at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja on Monday.

According to the statement, the trio met behind closed doors and discussed matters of national importance, especially as they affect Nigerians.

It noted that Governor Inuwa Yahaya has taken the decisive approach towards maintaining peace and tranquility in Gombe State and has always been harping on the need for a unified approach and leveraging both federal and state resources to enhance security infrastructure and operations.
