Africa-Press – Nigeria. Imo State chapter of African Democratic Congress, ADC, has initiated a move to mobilize support groups across the 27 LGAs in the State, in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
The move was championed by the Director General, Directorate of support groups, Diamond Bryan Agu, who hinted that the support groups include, Civil Society Organizations, CSOs, Non Governmental Organizations, NGOs, which were set up for grassroots mobilization and awareness.
Speaking during an interactive session with the State Chairman of the party and various support group leaders, Agu emphasized that the directorate remains the engine room for ADC’s 2027 electoral victory.
He highlighted that the party’s strength lies in its new political culture rooted in credibility, inclusiveness, accountability, and collective progress.
The DG asserted that the party believes in leadership earned through credibility, conviction and not manipulation or intimidation.
“Our support group structure has become a platform where ideas matter more than money, and where service to humanity is the highest form of politics,” he said.
During the interaction, Agu revealed that, in addition to the ten existing registered support groups, fourteen new groups have expressed interest in partnering with the Directorate of Support Groups to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence.
