Africa-Press – Nigeria. Adamawa State Government has cancelled an elaborately-planned crossover concert scheduled for the capital, Yola.
The concert, an annual event planned to start at 10pm on Wednesday, October 31, and to last into the early hours of January 1, 2026, and for which famous musicians have been invited, will no longer hold.
This is as announced in the late hours of Tuesday via a notice signed and released by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.
“Based on credible intelligence reports that border on security, the Adamawa State Government has cancelled all activities planned for the Cross Over Night on 31st December 2025 to 1st January 2026 at the Unity Fly-Over in Jimeta – Yola,” the notice from the Government House said.
“The safety and security of citizens remain our top priority,” the government added, assuring that it will continue to work with security agencies to ensure peace and stability in the state.
“We urge all citizens (especially residents of Yola North and South LGAs) to remain vigilant and steer clear of crowded areas, to avoid any potential risks, and report any suspicious activities to the authorities,” the government advised.
