The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, DIG Shehu Umar Nadada and the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, CP Rabiu Muhammad, engaged communities in the southern parts of the state on the need for peaceful coexistence as part of ongoing efforts to curb crime, strengthen security, and build public confidence.
DSP Mansir Hassan, the State Police spokesman in a statement on Thursday noted that the communities visited included Kachia, Sanga, Jere, Zango, Kajuru, Kafanchan Local Government Areas, and other parts of the state.
It said that during the visit, the senior officers held strategic engagements with key stakeholders, including traditional rulers, community leaders, Miyetti Allah, other Fulani leaders, religious leaders, and youth leaders, to deliberate on the prevailing security challenges in the area.
According to the statement, “Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration between security agencies and the community, addressing farmer-herder conflicts, and promoting intelligence sharing to tackle criminal activities effectively.”
The DIG emphasised the importance of peaceful coexistence, urging all residents to live in harmony and avoid actions capable of escalating tensions.
He assured the communities of the Nigeria Police Force’s continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property in every part of the country.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for community members to express their concerns and contribute to practical solutions aimed at restoring lasting peace in the area.
The Kaduna State Police Command reiterated its dedication to community-oriented policing and called on all residents to support security agencies in maintaining peace and stability across the state.
