Africa-Press – Nigeria. The former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has said he remains confident that truth and justice will ultimately prevail despite ongoing legal proceedings against him.
Malami expressed gratitude to family, friends, political associates, and well-meaning Nigerians who stood by him during the period, highlighting the support of figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, Rotimi Amaechi, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, and Peter Obi, among others.
According to a statement through his media aide, Mohammed Bello Doka, Malami said the support he received during the period strengthened his confidence in due process and the justice system.
He described the period as challenging, noting the prevalence of media trials, sensational narratives, and prejudgment, but added that the prayers and solidarity of Nigerians reinforced his resolve.
He also used the statement to call for greater commitment to the rule of law, urging citizens to remain engaged in defending justice, strengthening institutions, and promoting accountability across the country.
“The struggle for justice, accountability, and national redemption is only just beginning,” he said, emphasizing that Nigerians must work together to uphold integrity and democratic values.
Malami’s remarks come amid ongoing legal cases against him, which include allegations of corruption and other charges.
