Africa-Press – Nigeria. Operatives of the Kano State Police Command have arrested two suspected motor vehicle thieves and recover three stolen vehicles.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, made this known in a statement on Tuesday night.
The police image maker revealed that the achievement followed the command’s commitment in combating motor vehicle theft and ensuring the security of lives and property within the state.
He explained that on August 18, 2025 a report was received from a female resident of Badawa Quarters, Kano regarding the theft of her Motor Vehicle, a Hyundai Elantra, 2011 Model parked outside the North Field Montessori Academy premises in Nasarawa GRA, Kano State.
The PPRO said the vehicle was subsequently traced and recovered in Zaria, Kaduna State, on August 23, 2025.
Similarly, on August 5th, 2025, a report of vehicle theft was received by the command from one Mr. Moses of Sabon Gari Quarters, Kano.
“The Pontiac Vibe with registration number ABJ 739 JK was reported stolen in front of his residence.
“Following credible information received, the vehicle was recovered in Adamawa State”, the PPRO said.
Another incident was also reported on August 18 about a Siena Bus Motor Vehicle, which was stolen from Bauchi State.
“On receipt of the information, Police patrol teams were placed on red alert. Prompt action by the Police Patrol Team attached to Wudil Division led to the interception of the vehicle and the arrest of two suspects namely, Yunusa Muhammad aka Yellow and Abdulwahab Bala all of Bauchi State”, he said.
The police noted that the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation, and the vehicles will be handed over to their rightful owners.
