Africa-Press – Nigeria. Governor Agbu Kefas, of Taraba state, has expressed shock over the tragic death of three members of the state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication, Emmanuel Bello, and made available to journalists in Jalingo, the governor described the loss as a terrible tragedy.

Kefas extended his condolences to the bereaved families and the entire labour union, praying for the repose of the deceased souls. He acknowledged that the impact of their passing is felt not only by their immediate families but also by workers across the state.

“These individuals died in active service, contributing their quota to national development. Their labour was never in vain,” he stated.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare, the governor assured that both human capital development and statutory entitlements of workers would remain a priority.

The tragic incident, as gathered , occurred on Tuesday, along the Wukari-Jalingo road when the NULGE officials were returning from an official engagement in Abuja.

The accident, as further learnt by our reporter, claimed the lives of the state auditor of the association, Musa Ahmadu Alkali, the Zing local government chairperson of the association, HadiA Aliyu Barau and the branch chairman, Yakubu Tanko.
