Kogi: Don’t create problems for us, election is over – CP

Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Commissioner of Police in Kogi, Bethrand Onuoha, on Wednesday, cautioned troublemakers against causing problems in Kogi following the election.

The Commissioner issued the warning after some party members protested at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Some suspected SDP supporters in Kogi had stormed the INEC state secretariat early Wednesday morning, protesting “INEC alleged tampering with election materials”.

Security forces, on the other hand, moved in quickly to prevent an attack on the INEC Office, dispersing demonstrators with tear gas and barricading the road leading to the building.

The protest began peacefully until some protestors began throwing objects and abusing passers-by.

Protesters demanded that the election materials be relocated to Abuja.

One of the demonstrators, identified as Danjuma, told reporters that the APC had tampered with the papers at the INEC office.

“We have it on good authority that the APC and Yahaya Bello have tampered with the election materials.

“The materials they are taking to the tribunal have already been doctored.

So we are calling on INEC to take the original material to INEC, or we will make Kogi State ungovernable.”
