Africa-PressNigeria. The Nigerian Guild of Editors, NGE have commended the Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu over some road projects executed by the governor recently.

The editors gave the commendation on Monday in Umuahia shortly after assessing some of the projects already completed and those still in progress.

The Commissioner for Works, Dr Bob Ogu in the company of his Information counterpart, Chief John Okiyi Kalu led the editors to the project sites.

Dr Ogu, the Osisioma assured that the flyover in Aba would be completed before May 29 2021.

He said the flyover is being done in line with global standards.

He affirmed that most of the completed roads and others under construction were carried out with rigid pavement technology.

While at Ngwa Road, one of the ongoing road projects, Dr Ogu noted that plans were in top gear to complete the road before the end of this year.

He added that the target of Governor Ikpeazu was to link up all major economic hubs in Aba with a good road network.

Some of the roads visited include the newly reconstructed Aba-Owerri Road, Immaculate Avenue, ABSUTH Road, MCC, SAMEK, Eziukwu, Osusu Road, Milverton and all its adjoining roads.

Others are the newly completed and reconstructed Osokwa-Aro Umuejie-Omoba Road, Ngwa Road, Emelogu, Aba-Ikot Ekpene Road, There, Umuola, Ukaegbu, Obikabia and the Enyimba automated shoe factory.

Speaking after the tour, members of the Guild expressed surprise at the quality and number of roads executed by the governor.

They urged the Governor to continue his urban renewal and rural access programs which they said were already turning around the face of the State for the better.
