Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Ogun State House of Assembly has vetted nine of the 10 additional commissioner nominees sent to them by Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The governor has so far forwarded names of 18 commissioner nominees to the lawmakers for confirmation.

On Wednesday, nine nominees were screened at the Ogun State House of Assembly complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

At the screening exercise presided over by the Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, the nominees were charged with leveraging the advantages offered by technology to address insecurity, food deficits, transportation constraints, and waste management.

The members of the assembly urged the nominees to redouble their efforts at consolidating the successes recorded during the first term of Gov Abiodun, through the introduction of policies that would have a direct impact on the people.

The lawmakers wanted the nominees to deploy technology in developing a comprehensive bio-data for motorcycle riders to aid the fight against crime and criminalities across the state. They also urged the nominees to develop means of ensuring the cleanliness of major towns and cities in the state, adding that the Ogun State policy on the waste-to-wealth creation programme must be vigorously pursued to create more employment opportunities for youths.

The nominees screened on Wednesday were Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo, Sofela Adebola Emmanuel, Olufemi Ilori-Oduntan, Oluwagbenga Dairo, Bolu Owootomo, Oladimeji Oresanya, Balogun Ademola, Osunbiyi Tunde, and Fagbayi Sesan.

The nominees promised to be committed to the ideals and agenda of the Abiodun administration in the state.

They expressed their readiness to deploy their expertise towards tackling emerging issues confronting the Ogun people.
