Africa-Press – Nigeria. More than 8000 civil servants under the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, are expected to take part in this year’s promotion examinations beginning Tuesday in Abuja.
The five day exercise will run from 25 to 29 November at the National Open University Study Centre along Kubwa Road.
According to the chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, the candidates are drawn from 165 different cadres.
Ezeh explained that the FCT Minister approved the commission’s request to fast track the conclusion of the 2024 promotion exercise for staff of the FCT and the FCDA.
He said the examination will be conducted through a computer based test, a method introduced recently to strengthen the digital system for staff assessment.
Ezeh recalled that the administration under Barrister Nyesom Wike became the first in the country to adopt the computer based format for promotion tests.
He added that in August 2025, the minister approved the elevation of 49 directors who had passed the CBT conducted by the commission.
