Police Arrest 23-Year-Old, Recover Locally Made Pistol

Africa-Press – Nigeria. Operatives of the Delta State Police Command’s Raiders Squad, during a stop-and-search operation along the Benin–Asaba Expressway by Custom Market, Oshimili North Local Government Area, have recovered a locally fabricated pistol from a 23-year-old suspect, Aminu Inusa, who was intercepted.

The recovery was made on 25 March 2026 at about 1300hrs.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the report in a statement sent to our correspondent in Warri.

He said, “On 25 March 2026 at about 1300hrs, operatives of the Command’s Raiders Squad, while acting on credible intelligence, carried out a stop-and-search operation along the Benin–Asaba Expressway by Custom Market, Oshimili North Local Government Area.”

According to SP Edafe, “During the exercise, one Aminu Inusa, male, aged 23 years, was intercepted.

“A search conducted on the suspect led to the recovery of one locally fabricated Beretta pistol.

“The suspect has been taken into custody, and investigation is ongoing.”
