Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Senate on Wednesday, suspended the confirmation of Kingsley Udeh as minister.
Udeh’s confirmation was suspended due to the absence of a mandatory security clearance.
This was disclosed by the senate president, Godswill Akpabio, during plenary.
Akpabio said said Udeh’s confirmation could not hold until the chamber received the required security report on the nominee.
“The confirmation of the minister-nominee would have been next on the list, but we need security clearance,” Akpabio informed the senate.
On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu had requested that the Senate confirm Udeh as a minister.
The call for the confirmation of Udeh, who hails from Enugu State as minister was contained in a letter read by Akpabio during plenary.
