Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Ireti Kingibe, has disclosed details of a heated telephone exchange between her and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, revealing that the intervention of the Senate President was required to resolve the dispute.

Kingibe made the disclosure on Friday while speaking on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television.

According to her, she repeatedly called the minister over what she described as an urgent matter until he eventually answered.

She said the conversation quickly escalated into a shouting match.

The lawmaker stated that both parties raised their voices during the exchange before ending the call.

She added that the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, later intervened by initiating a three-way call, which helped to resolve the issue.

The senator did not provide further details about the subject of the disagreement but maintained that the matter was eventually settled following the Senate President’s intervention.

She said: “I have Wike’s number, and he has mine number too. I know I have the right number. I have called him before. He didn’t answer, and I kept calling and calling till he picked up the phone.

“And then he proceeded to yell at me. We yelled at each other for a few minutes, and we put the phone down. Then the the senate president now intervened and did a three way call, and we resolved the issue, because for me, that issue was urgent, and that’s why I called him. And I was determined that he was going to pick it up.

“I said, are you in your office? Let me come and see you. He said, no, no, no, don’t come yet here. That was the conversation. He sounded as if I was going to harm him.”
