Africa-Press – Nigeria. In what looks like an endorsement of the second-term bid of the governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has assured that both of them will continue to work together.

Tinubu also stated that Soludo has been his good friend for over 20 years, a declaration he had also made months back in Awka during a visit.

Soludo was at Aso Villa on Tuesday to visit the president and had told State House Correspondents that he and the president had a robust conversation around the economy, security, and others, but said he would not like to divulge his discussions with him.

In his own account of the visit to him by Soludo, President Tinubu on Wednesday took to his verified Facebook page to extol Soludo, corroborating Soludo’s statement that they had discussions around the economy, security, and others.

In what looked like an endorsement of Soludo’s bid to get re-election as governor of Anambra State, Tinubu averred that Soludo was a progressive and that his government would work closely with him.

The message read: “It was a pleasure to welcome my friend of over two decades and the Governor of Anambra State, Governor Charles Soludo, to the Aso Villa yesterday.

“We discussed the bold reforms underway, the need to stay the course, and the importance of tackling insecurity through both decisive action and inclusive opportunities for our teeming youth.

“We share a firm belief that all who profess progressivism must work together to deepen our democracy, strengthen security, and transform our economy.

“We will continue to take a bet on our dear country, Nigeria, to ensure sustainable and shared prosperity for the future.

“Our administration will continue to partner with every state that is serious about human, social, and economic development because Nigeria’s progress is strongest when we work together,” Tinubu stated.
