Africa-Press – Nigeria. Troops of the Nigerian military have destroyed a suspected terrorist camp during an offensive operation in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Details of the operation were shared in a post on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who cited security sources.
According to the post, the operation was carried out in the early hours of 21 April by troops of 1 Brigade working alongside Tactical Command elements and the Multi-Service Task Team.
The assault reportedly began with a pre-H-hour artillery bombardment, while the air component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA provided close air support to ground troops.
“During the operation, troops engaged the terrorists in a firefight, forcing them to flee and abandon their positions,” Makama wrote.
The troops then moved in to clear the area and destroyed the identified terrorist camps.
Security sources said the operation was successful and no casualties were recorded among the troops.
