Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesome Wike, has taken a swipe at the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde.
Speaking to his supporters in Rivers State on Sunday, the former governor lamented that it is only in Nigeria that a contractor would be awarded a $1 million contract and his or her profit would equal the entire contract sum.
He vowed to address claims made by Gov. Makinde against him in an interview on Monday.
“You see, it’s only in Nigeria that someone will get a $1 million contract, and his profit will be the same $1 million; if that is the case, only God will help us,” he said in a now viral video on X.
Gov. Makinde, speaking in a media chat on Tuesday, said he made his first $1 million at the age of 29, when Minister Wike was leaving law school and jostling for the local government chairmanship position.
The duo’s renewed clash comes amid the ongoing leadership crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party.
