World Teachers Day: Kwara declares Monday public holiday for teachers

Africa-Press – Nigeria. Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has approved Monday, October 7, 2024, as a public holiday for teachers in the state.

The gesture, according to a statement by the state Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Moddibo Kawu, is in honor of World Teachers’ Day (WTD).

The governor commended the teachers for their role in advancing human progress through quality teaching and the nurturing of minds.

“The governor directs that this holiday be enjoyed by teachers in the public and private sectors as a mark of appreciation for what they do,” the statement said.

“He wishes them a blessed holiday,” it added.
