Africa-Press – Nigeria. At least 25 females, including married women and young girls, were abducted when armed bandits invaded Kwanar Na Uwa in Tofa District, Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Saturday night.
The assailants stormed the community under the cover of darkness, targeting households and abducting only females in what has been described as a grave case of Gender-Based Violence, GBV, with a high risk of sexual abuse.
According to a post on Sunday by security analyst Bakatsine via X:
“Yesterday night, bandits invaded Kwanar Na Uwa in Tofa District, Bungudu LGA, Zamfara. They abducted 25 females, both married women and young girls. This is a grave case of Gender-Based Violence, GBV, with high risk of sexual abuse,” the post read.
