Africa-Press – Nigeria. Crystal Palace midfielder, Christantus Uche, will not be able to leave the club this January over FIFA regulations.
This is despite Uche’s struggle for playing time at the Premier League side.
Uche, a key player at Getafe, left the LaLiga for Palace in the summer of 2025 but has had a very limited opportunity in the Premier League under manager, Oliver Glasner.
Since arrival at Selhurst Park, the Nigeria international has made just seven appearances across all competitions.
There are suggestions he could be heading out of the club with interest from Bundesliga clubs.
But the Athletic reports that Fifa two-club rule prohibits players from representing more than two clubs in a single season.
According to the rule, although a player may be registered with up to three clubs in one season, they are only permitted to play official matches for a maximum of two of them.
This means that the only exit door open for Uche is a return to Getafe in La Liga or he remains at Palace.
Uche, who is on loan at Crystal Palace, could return to his Spanish side with all indications.
That could only happen provided his loan contract at Selhurst Park includes a break clause.
