Africa-Press – Nigeria. Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti has named his team as favorites to win the LaLiga title this season.
Ancelotti said this following Real Madrid’s LaLiga 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid at the weekend.
Real Madrid defeated Atletico Madrid at home, thanks to two goals from Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio.
The result against Atletico means Ancelotti’s side are now eight points clear on top of the LaLiga table.
Behind Real Madrid is Sevilla with 34 points from 16 games.
Speaking after his team’s win against Atletico Madrid, Ancelotti said at his post-match press conference, “We are favorites to win LaLiga, but we are focused on the future.
“A mental loss can cost you dearly and I think we are doing well and it is the only way to get closer to victory in each game.”
He added, “I like the team a lot defensively. We are more solid because we have improved and I am happy about it.”
