According to the former Real Madrid boss, he never spoke to his [Real Madrid] players about Messi to avoid them getting scared during an encounter with Barcelona.
Ancelotti managed Real Madrid from 2013 to 2015 and during that period, Messi scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists against Los Blancos.
“When I was at Real Madrid and we played many times against Leo Messi — who was one of the best opponents — I never spoke to the players about Messi otherwise they would get scared,” Carlo Ancelotti told Liverpool Echo.
The current Everton manager, Ancelotti won the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup with Real Madrid.
