Nigeria vs Ghana: Eguavoen told Super Eagles will qualify for World Cup on one condition

Africa-Press – Nigeria. Former Nigeria international, Tijani Babaginda, has told the interim coach of Super Eagles, Austine Eguavoen, that Nigeria will pick the ticket for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year if he chooses the right striker to start against the Black Stars of Ghana.

Nigeria and Ghana will face off in a two-legged World Cup qualifier in March.

The first leg will take place on Friday, March 25, at the Cape Coast Stadium in Ghana.

The return leg between the West African rivals will hold on Tuesday, March 29, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The winner will clinch one of five tickets to represent Africa at Qatar 2022, but Babaginda believes that the impressive form of Victor Osimhen, Odion Ighalo, Sadiq Umar, among others, may give Eguavoen a serious headache in terms of who to select for the Ghana clash.

“There is no doubt that the current strikers in the Super Eagles are not doing badly in Europe. The likes of Osimhen, Ighalo, Sadiq and others are banging the goals for their respective clubs and it’s a sign of good things to come for the team.

”Again, this will definitely give Eguavoen a serious headache in terms of who to select for the game against Ghana. If he gets the right strikers to start, then the team will pick the ticket for Qatar,” Babaginda told Completesports.
