Sheriff joined the Prosperity Boys ahead of the second stanza of the season.
His arrival will be a big boost for Bayelsa United, who are battling to escape the drop.
The former Federation Cup winners have recorded one win in their last seven games in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Bayelsa United currently occupy the 18th position on the NPFL table.
They will take on Gombe United when the second stanza starts on Saturday.
