Africa-Press – Rwanda. The Luanda Science Center (CCL) is since Saturday, in Luanda, incentivizing the public to devote attention to Space Technology and Engineering, as part of World Space Day, which is celebrated annually from October 4 to 10.
Speaking to the press, the coordinator of the Luanda to the Universe Event at the CCL, Reginaldo Felinga, emphasized that these technologies have contributed to the development of societies worldwide.
He stated that, until the 10th of the current month, lectures, school competitions, knowledge sharing among professionals involved in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, students, and teachers from different levels of education, as well as astronomical observations through the telescope, will be held at the venue.
The official also announced that interventions by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Albano Ferreira, the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira and the Minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, are scheduled for the last day.
He added that the event’s program, which has the motto “From Space: Building Life on Earth,” will also feature educational workshops and planetarium sessions.
Reginaldo Felinga emphasized that this event will contribute to the development of national capabilities, affirming Angola’s role on the international stage in aerospace research and technology.
The World Space Week was proclaimed by the United Nations (UN) and reinforced by its agency for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO). It is a global celebration of space science and technology, inspiring new generations and reinforcing the role of space in the future of humanity.
