Africa-Press – Rwanda. Kenya’s Chief of Defence Forces, General Francis Ogolla, visited the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) and held bilateral talks with Rwandan army leadership.

The talks aimed at deepening the existing relations between the two armies.

Upon his arrival, he received by his Rwandan counterpart Lt Gen Mubarakh Muganga.

General Ogolla’s visit to Rwanda was part of his participation in the “Ushikiano Impala” an Armed Forces Command Post Exercise (CPX) held in Musanze district recently and brought together armed officers from East African Community.

Recognizing the importance of the occasion, he found it necessary to engage in bilateral discussions with his Rwandan counterpart.

In addition to the talks, General Ogolla took the opportunity to pay a courtesy call to the Minister of Defence, Juvénal Marizamunda.

The visit underscores the ongoing commitment to strengthen the partnership between KDF and RDF which extends beyond training and encompasses various aspects of security cooperation.

During his visit, General Ogolla also paid his respects to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, further emphasizing the significance of fostering unity and understanding between the two nations.
