Africa-Press – Rwanda. The inaugural Rwanda Super Cup, slated for January 17, will take place at the BK Arena, according to the Rwanda Basketball Federation (Ferwaba).
Introduced by the 2023 General Assembly, the Super Cup serves as the curtain-raiser for the new season of Rwanda Basketball League. It pits the league champions and the winners of the Rwanda Cup which are tussled in a one-game format.
Rwandan champions APR will face Rwanda Energy Group (REG) in the men’s category. The army side won both trophies and they will, as a result, play against REG, who finished as runners-up of Rwanda Cup 2024.
In women’s category, REG, who won the 2024 championship, will lock horns with Rwanda Cup winner APR.
The new season for Rwanda Basketball League, both and women, will commence on January 24.
