Africa-Press – Rwanda. Someone in Uganda National Police smiled his way home on Tuesday Morning August 31, after receiving UgSh1.2 million from the family of Bahati Ntwari , 26, who was gruesomely murdered from the outskirt of Kamapla on Saturday night.
The family was pressed so hard to make one out of the two choice; between never seeing the body of their family member or pay the demanded money and take the body immediately and ask no questions regarding the deceased.
An authentic Police autopsy report that Taarifa has seen, says that Bahati Ntwari’s cause of death is “hypoxia due to lobar pneumonia.” No investigation has been conducted and no more reports will be given.
“They have even confiscated his Identity Card (Indangamuntu),” a family member told Taarifa earlier while the body of the deceased was being transported to Rwanda from Kampala. “We are basically transporting a body with no identity.”
Bahati, family says, has been working as a mechanic in Kampala city for four years. He lived in Bulamazzi of Bujuko in Mpigi District (Central Region), about 25 km west of Kampala, where he was found strangled and his body with burns.
Sources say an arrest was made on Sunday of one of the two people the deceased lived and worked with, but Police did not provide the family with any information surrounding the arrest. His death was discovered by his friend who came to visit on Sunday.
The body had not arrived in Rwanda by press time.
