Etincelles vs Bugesera
Muhazi United vs APR
Rayon Sports Vs Vision
APR skipper Claude Niyomugabo has said that only themselves can be blamed if they lose the title, with the league campaign now two matches away from conclusion.
APR took advantage of Rayon Sports’ shock 2-1 loss at the hands of Bugesera FC to climb to the summit of the table with 61 points, with the ‘Blues’ now trailing in second place with 59 points.
The army side takes on Muhazi United at Ngoma Stadium on Saturday and Niyomugabo called on his teammates to cool down their heads as a win would see them edge closer to club’s sixth straight title.
“The good thing is that we are leading the table and it is up to us to win or lose the title. Nonetheless, we still have two difficult games remaining which we have to win,” Niyomugabo said.
“Our aim is to retain the league title this season; we have a tricky game against Muhazi which we have to win, and increase our chances on the title. We are still hungry to win the title and we will give it our best to win it again,” he added.
On the other hand, Muhazi United are looking to survive from relegation as the win over APR could boost their chances of staying in topflight division.
However, Muhazi United president, Longin Nkaka, has fired a warning to APR that they his team can’t afford to lose the game as they fight to avoid relegation.
“It’s a game of doing it or die as it would give us a chance of remaining in top division. We told the players and coaches that, and we increased the bonuses. That means we have no excuses,” Nkaka said.
Also, he said, “if you look at table, we are in a bad situation where we could be relegated to the Second Division. So to prevent that from happening, we have to get points from APR FC, which we consider a matter of life and death,” he added
Elsewhere, Etincelles will host Bugesera at Umuhanda Stadium while Rayon Sports welcome Vision at Kigali Pele Stadium.
