Rayon Sports 0-2 AS Kigali

Rayon Sports’ struggles went from bad to worse following Sunday’s 2-0 home defeat at the hands of AS Kigali in match day 8 of the Rwanda Premier League.

Two second half goals from Tharcisse Nshimiyimana and Olivier Dushimimana were enough for the Citizens to bag three points before the Blues crowd at Kigali Pele Stadium.

Scoring chances were rare from both ends until half time but AS Kigali looked sharper in front of goal throughout the second half.

Nshimiyimana broke the deadlock in the 66th minute, finishing off Aimée Ntirushwa’s pass from outside the box.

Rayon Sports started to create chances from midfield pushing to draw level but their hopes were ended by an 84th minute goal from Dushimimana as AS Kigali secured a 2-0 win that moved them to 11th place with 8 points.

Rayon dropped to fourth place with 13 points.

Elsewhere, AS Muhanga travelled to Huye to earn three points with a 2-1 over Mukura Victory Sports.

Onesme Twizerimana opened the scoring inside six minutes of the match before Joseph Sackey equalized in the 18th minute. AS Muhanga restored the lead in the 21st minute after Honore Shingiro scored what proved to be that the winning goal.
