Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) has revoked the legal status of Grace Room, an inter-denominational ministry, citing violations of the regulatory framework governing Faith-Based Organisations (FBOs) in Rwanda.
In a statement released on Saturday, May 10, RGB indicated that Grace Room has been engaging in prayer-related activities that are inconsistent with its stated mission as an inter-denominational ministry.
The board emphasised that all FBOs registered under its mandate are obligated to operate strictly within the confines of their approved objectives.
Any departure from these guidelines will attract administrative penalties, including the possible withdrawal of legal recognition where deemed necessary, RGB added.
RGB’s statement emphasised that FBOs are urged to safeguard the integrity of their legal identity and to strictly comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
Grace Room, founded in 2018, brings together over 5,000 worshippers who gather at least thrice a week at its premises in Nyarutarama, Kigali. It attracts congregants from different denominations to pray, worship, and share testimonies together.
