Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwanda U20 reaching the semi-finals of the IHF Trophy Intercontinental phase after winning their second game of the tournament taking place at the Palace of Youth and Sports in Pristina, Kosovo.
The African champions overcame Uzbekistan with a 40-32 victory on Friday, March 14. The result was enough for them to reach the semifinals where they will face the United States.
Uzbekistan utilized their long-distance shooting to challenge Rwanda, leading by two goals in the first period. However, head coach Francois Xavier Ngarambe refreshed his squad with five minutes remaining, allowing them to secure the first 30-minute period with a 20-18 lead.
In the second period, the Rwandan team demonstrated their superior ability by breaking through Uzbekistan’s defense, and won the period 20-14.
Rwanda will now battle against the US on Saturday, March 15, with a ticket to the final up for grabs.
