Industrial Output Grows 8.5% in June
Industrial Output Grows 8.5% in June

Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rwanda’s formal sector industrial output rose by 8.5 per cent in June 2025 compared to the same period last year, according to new figures released by the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR).

The Index of Industrial Production released on Monday, August 4, indicates that the annual average growth rate stood at 6.4 per cent.

A breakdown of the performance across key sectors shows that mining and quarrying activities posted the highest growth, increasing by 17.7 per cent.

Electricity production grew by 12.5 percent, while water and waste management services registered a 3 percent increase. The manufacturing sector expanded by 2.3 per cent.

The growth in manufacturing was largely driven by a 24.6 per cent rise in food processing and a notable 28.9 per cent increase in the production of non-metallic mineral products.

On the downside, the production of chemicals, rubber, and plastic goods declined by 13.9 per cent. Likewise, output in metal products, machinery, and equipment dropped by 6.6 per cent.
