Africa-Press – Rwanda. The Ministry of Education says it has temporarily shut down the premises of Rwanda Polytechnic’s Integrated Polytechnic Regional College based in Kigali, amid investigations of theft and misappropriation of public resources.
In a communique dated October 23, the education ministry also highlighted that no student, staff or the general public will be given access into the premises for the next two weeks.
“Following a decision by the government of Rwanda, Mineduc informs all students, staff and the general public that the campus of RP-IPRC Kigali is temporarily closed for two weeks, to allow for ongoing investigation into serious cases of theft and misappropriation of public resources.”
“We call upon all individuals who may have useful information that could benefit the investigation to contact the nearest Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) office.”
Mineduc also allayed fears of students who are on campus, citing that they would be facilitated to return home, and also be informed on when the campus will be reopened.
