Kepler 65-62 REG

American star Young Desi-Rae Yvonne caught fire as her game high 17 points inspired Kepler to a stunning 65-62 Game 1 win over Rwanda Energy Group (REG) on Wednesday, August 20, to lead the series of the best-of-seven- playoffs finals.

The match was highly contested due to, among other reasons, the fact that the champions will represent Rwanda in Zone V.

Returning for the second half, Kepler continued to dominate to claim the third quarter 12-8 but REG bounced back to claim the final quarter 21-19. However, it was not enough to claim the game.

Desi-Rae Yvonne shined for Kepler, supported by her counterparts Nelly Sandra Nsanzabaganwa and Traore Aichata who netted 16 and 14 points respectively.

For REG, Akon Rose Paul Macuei dropped 12 points and Maiga Kadidia added 11 points. Game 2 between the two sides will be played on August 22.
