Healing Across Generations

As part of Kwibuka30, this Sunday at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, there will be a session on “Healing Across Generations”. This event, running from 4 to 7 pm, will feature various speakers, including a keynote address by Tito Rutaremara, chairperson of the Council of Elders Advisory Forum. The session will explore the narratives and resilience emerging from the experiences of transgenerational trauma stemming from the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Men’s Conference

All men are invited to the Men’s Conference at New Life Bible Church this weekend. The conference begins on Friday, May 17 at 5 pm and continues on Saturday, May 18 from 8 am. Located in Kicukiro, Kagarama, the event will feature speakers such as Pastor David Ewagata, Professor Nathan Chiroma, and Pastor Fred Katagwa.

The conference theme is “Awakening Adam”.

FRVB Volleyball League Playoffs

The three-day volleyball playoffs kick off on Friday and run through Sunday. This event will feature the top four teams from the men’s and women’s league regular season. In the women’s category, APR will face Ruhango and Police will compete against RRA at 2 pm.

In the men’s category, APR will play against REG and Police will take on Kepler at 8 pm. All matches will be held at Ecole Belge de Kigali in Gisozi. Tickets are available for Rwf2,000 and Rwf5,000.

Kigali Universe Launch

The $1.5 million ‘Kigali Universe’ complex is being inaugurated this Saturday, May 18. Tickets are priced at Rwf50,000 and Rwf20,000.

The weekend will feature football games, including a match between a superstars team—comprising artistes Bruce Melodie, Chriss Eazy, Kenny Sol, Platini P, and producer Element—and a legends team with former footballers Jimmy Mulisa, Jimmy Gatete, Thomas Higiro, Thierry Hitimana, and Eric Nshimiyimana.

Another match will see investors face off against the media. Winners of these games will compete in a final on Sunday.

The Mechanical Advantage

Are you an EDM fan? Your weekend just got better! The party is returning to Mundi Center this Saturday, May 18. Revellers will dance to the best electronic, techno, and Afrobeats from top DJs Chrisman, Anitraxx, Motari, Kavumbi Dust, Alyt Mx, and Mah Kavadias.

The event runs from 6 pm to 2 am. Early bird tickets are available for Rwf7,000, and door tickets are Rwf10,000.

Pop-Up Concept Store

Kozo Kigali is hosting a pop-up store from Wednesday to Monday, May 20. If you’re interested in sustainable fashion, skincare, arts and crafts, interior design, library, and music, this is the place to shop exclusively for African businesses.

Some featured brands include Izubaa, Asantii, Dye Lab, Moshions, and Fibi Studio.

Brunch at Atelier du Vin

If you’re into fine dining, don’t miss the brunch at Atelier du Vin this Sunday, May 19. Located on KN3 Road in Gikondo, Kicukiro, inside Akagera Motors and Marketplace, the brunch offers two options: a soft drinks package for Rwf30,000 or a flowing alcohol package for Rwf50,000. Enjoy international cuisine, a serene environment, and live music by Milly’s band.

Dance Masterclass with Mutivation

Muti, also known as Mutivation, is a multidisciplinary artist, movement educator, artistic director, choreographer, filmmaker, musician, and curator for film, fashion, commercials, and festivals. He will be conducting a Masterclass at L’espace on Saturday, May 18, from 10 am to 4:30 pm.

Participants will explore movement, develop creative capacities, and learn how to navigate a professional career in contemporary dance. Muti will share tips on developing personal practice, language, and artistic awareness. Admission is Rwf20,000, with a discounted rate of Rwf15,000 for dance artists.
