Labour Ministry Announces Four-Day Public Holiday

Africa-Press – Rwanda. The Ministry of Public Service and Labour has announced a four-day public holiday, starting Tuesday, July 1, the Independence Day.

In a public announcement released on Friday, June 20, the ministry confirmed that Friday, July 4, will also be a public holiday to mark Liberation Day—one of the country’s most significant national holidays.

In addition to the two official holidays, the ministry announced an extra two public holidays on Wednesday, July 2 and Thursday, July 3, effectively creating a continuous break from Tuesday through Friday.

“Official work will resume on Monday, July 7, 2025,” the ministry said, adding that essential services will remain operational to ensure continuity of public service delivery during the break.

“As we celebrate these important national holidays, let us do so responsibly and safely,” the announcement read in part.
