Patriots will officially open their 2026 Rwanda Basketball League regular season with a game against AZOMCO at Petit Stade on Wednesday, February 11.
Both sides were active during the offseason transfer window, reinforcing their squads with fresh additions.
Patriots strengthened their roster with the signings of American guard Damaria Franklin, Nigerian centre Chingka Kennedy Garba, small forward Herve Irakoze, forward Richard Bizimungu, shooting guard Didier Shema, and Hubert Sage Kwizera.
The new signings came in after the club lost several star players including Frank Kamndoh, Elliott Cole, Steven Hagumintwari, Bruno Nyamwasa and Cadeaux de Dieu Furaha among others.
AZOMCO also bolstered their squad, bringing in South Sudanese Gabriel Deng Ater, Beninese Marc Seylan, Topaz Kana, and Theogene Niyibizi.
In other matchups, reigning champions APR will begin their title defence against newcomers Inspire Generation Basketball Club at 8:30 pm. APR remain the league’s most successful club, boasting a record 16 championships, including last season’s title.
Meanwhile, RSSB Tigers face Kepler in the day’s second fixture at 6:00 pm.
The Rwanda Basketball League currently features nine teams, with the majority based in Kigali, setting up another competitive season in Rwanda’s top-flight basketball competition.
