Africa-Press – Rwanda. AMAVUBI star striker Innocent Nshuti was delighted to score a stunning goal which proved decisive as his side Espérance Sportive de Zarzis beat Club Africain 2–1 in the Tunisian Ligue 1 over the weekend.

The Rwanda international was introduced in the 67th minute and went on to score the team’s second goal in the 80th minute to seal the victory for the club in the highly-contested match day three encounter.

Nshuti told Times Sport that he was happy to open his goal account at Zarzis, saying, “We played a good game especially in second half where we managed to get all three points but we still have a lot to do. The win should boost our morale in the next matches to keep progressing well.”

“It was a good goal and I’m happy to score because it is good to score when you are new in a club which builds around you. I am very glad that I scored the winning goal for the team,” Nshuti added

The win against Club Africain saw ES Zarzis remain at the top of the Tunisia ligue 1 table with 9 points, having won all three matches.

Nshuti has joined Tunisian top-tier club ES Zarzis in July, making a return to Tunisia, where he previously played for Stade Tunisien in the 2018-2019 season.

He also formerly featured for One Knoxville in the U.S. and APR FC in Rwanda.

Mugisha’s Al Masry hold Pyramids

Meanwhile, Bonheur Mugisha also stands as one of the best performing players pying their trade abroad. Now at Al Masry in Egypt, he helped the club hold African champions Pyramids to a pulsating 2-2 draw.

Mugisha started on the bench but came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute of the match.

Elsewhere, his former teammate at APR Anicet Ishimwe played the entire match as Olympique Beja of Tunisia lost 2-0 to US Monastir.

Gitego opens goal account at FUS Rabat

Striker Arthur Gitego, who plays for FUS Rabat in Morocco, scored his first goal since joining the club, giving his team a vital 1-0 victory in a friendly match against Tamara.

Meanwhile, Hakim Sahabo came on as substitute in the 46th minute substitute as his side Standard de Liège lost 3-0 at the hands of city rivals Cercle Brugge KSV in the Belgian top tier league.

RAAL La Louvière also played a 0-0 draw with Royale Union SG, in a match that featured Samuel Gueulette, who had been out for a while due to injury. The Rwandan midfielder came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute.

Zira FK of Ange Mutsinzi in Azerbaijan, started the 2025/26 season with a 1-1 draw with Araz on the opening day.

Jojea Kwizera also started for Rhode Island who defeated Birmingham of Phanuel Kavita 1-0, to reach the semi-finals of the USL Cup.

Kwizera also played in another match of the Second Division in the United States, where they were defeated by Hartford Athletic 3-0 while Birmingham of Kavita drew 1-1 with Pittsburgh.

Prince Buregeya had 90 minutes on his debut match for Nairobi United who beat Select SC 5-1 in a friendly match on Saturday.
