Africa-Press – Rwanda. American point guard Obadiah Noel has signed for Tanzanian powerhouse Dar City basketball club ahead of the 2025 Basketball Genocide Memorial Tournament which runs from Wednesday, April 23, through April 27 in Kigali.

Times Sport understands that the 25-year-old, who previously featured for APR in Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2025, will travel to Kigali on Wednesday with the Tanzanian club and he could be part of the roster set to take on Rwanda’s United Generation Basketball (UGB) on Thursday.

Noel was a standout figure at APR during the BAL 2025 thanks to his commendable contributions with great scoring and leadership. However, he wasn’t able to qualify the army side through to the BAL finals after sustaining an injury during the Sahara Conference in Dakar, Senegal. APR at the time missed out on the spot to the finals in Kigali.

Noel made his debut for APR in the semi-final of the 2024 Genocide Memorial Tournament and scored 26 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists against REG.

On November 18, 2024.

He is back in the same tournament which honours members of the basketball fraternity who lost their lives during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Dar City are pooled in the same group as UGB and Patriots.
