Africa-Press – Rwanda. Former APR central defender Prince Buregeya has joined Nairobi United ahead of the 2025/26 season, signing a two-year contract with the newly promoted Kenya Premier League side.

Buregeya, who spent last season at AS Kigali after leaving APR, is already in Kenya and set to strengthen Nairobi United’s squad as they prepare for both the domestic competition and the CAF Confederation Cup.

Nairobi United earned promotion from the second tier and captured headlines by winning the Mozzabet Cup, defeating Gor Mahia 2–1 in the final. The victory secured them a place in the CAF Confederation Cup, where they will face Uganda’s NEC FC in the preliminary round on September 20, 2025, at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

Meanwhile, another Rwandan player Elie Kategeya is close to completing a move to Tunisian side Jeunesse Sportive d’El Omrane. The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has been on trial in Tunisia and is expected to sign a two-year deal if talks go through.

Kategeya, who came through APR’s system, has previously played for Intare FC, Mukura VS, and Vision FC on loan. During his spell at Mukura, he scored four goals, provided three assists, and created seven chances.
